As part of my responsibilities in Phonexia, I wear several hats:- I lead a team of three Java developers. I support them in making on-time deliveries using modified Scrum methodology we jointly devised. As part of this process, my team members and I have talked directly with our customers (both external and internal) to work out details of various projects. (This included doing training of our technologies to our partners.)- Apart from leading software delivery, I have worked as a product manager for internal projects. One of these projects helps streamline work in the R&D division and hence reduces costs for the company. Additionally, I help refine ideas and requirements of our product managers to make the software delivery faster and the product more valuable.- I have worked on leadership within the organisation. This consisted of helping my team members and my peers grow, using combination of mentoring, coaching and feedback. Furthermore, I have led internal team that analysed communication and processes between various departments, resulting in several important findings (both for the departments and the management) that served as a base for organisational changes that boosted company's overall productivity.

Leading a team of several people to achieve excellence in software development, working on a product providing a business view of customer data in NetSuite, regardless of company's setup, settings and customisations, for internal teams to easily build business logic on top of them.My responsibilities include:- Making the team work better together. I help by facilitating discussions, tracking down sources of annoyance and proposing/implementing constructive solutions to such issues.- Improving efficiency of team; while having a team members in sync with one another helps, using appropriate development methodologies given the situation is crucial for considerable improvements (which makes everyone happier). I contribute by analysing repeating situations, creating meaningful process aligned with agile principles together with team members, and influencing them to adopt these processes.- Keeping stakeholders happy; this includes system architects, developers from various teams (as we have both internal customers and suppliers) and our product manager. I focus on delivering effective solutions, while providing enough information to keep everyone satisfied while respecting their time and interests.- Leading people in achieving personal excellence. I make use of mentoring, coaching and advising, depending on skill and individual, to create an environment where people want to improve themselves. This includes motivating team members and performance management as well.

I was working on exciting novel platform for data query and reporting in the NetSuite product, created to provide user friendly, real-time experience for analysing customers' data. My responsibilities included:- Creating code in multilayered application, while aiming for sustainable architecture during development of new product with ever-changing requirements (we used design thinking and prototyping to improve user experience).- Communicating with multiple teams, coming up with specification and coordinating work split between various teams based on their area of expertise.- Setting best practices and perfecting existing ones by analysing finished work, discussing and agreeing with the development team.- Using development practises and methodologies, such as Kanban and TDD, for guidance and better quality of the finished product.

Teaching assistant for courses Programming in C and Programming in C++. My responsibilities included:- Teaching, both during exercises and lectures, with great feedback from students.- Participation in improvement of subjects' curricula and management of new material preparation. These materials are used and improved to this day.- Coordinating homework assignments preparation. This included managing people who were creating the assignments as well as controlling the quality of their work. As a result, many of the assignments are reused in new semesters, and new assignments are created using processes I have helped develop.- Maintaining the automatic homework correction system (called "kontr"). I oversaw the development of this system as well as made sure it functioned correctly. This system handles 300+ students each semester with no major incidents.

I tried to start a company with product that focused on software maintenance. Even though initial traction was great, later during product development it turned out that it would not be a good business, so I decided to abandon this project. I learned a lot about business and product development, which greatly enhanced my existing skills of a software developer, forcing me to look at problems from a different perspective.

My job during this summer internship (I would have stayed longer had I not gone to Denmark for studies) consisted of designing and implementing parts of the CPU version of JPEG2000 codec (in C++), along with the tool chain used to deliver this product (CMake for building and Travis for Continuous Integration).

As a part time job, I was correcting software defects in telecommunication software written in C and C++.
