Engineer responsible for the optimization and safe operation of the LB1 Hyperzone polyethylene unit with specific focus on the purification, solids handling, extrusion, and utility sections of the process.Performs PSM evaluations and PHAs to assess and manage process safety risks. Works with CSE automation to identify process control opportunities and execute alarm rationalization coding changes and state based alarming. Improves operational reliability through identification of reoccurring equipment/operational failures and executing mechanical or procedural changes to address these failures.Achievements:• Created an estimated $7.2MM of recurring revenue through leading the plant side development of new high value, best in class product lines. Functioned as process SME to coordinate product development with R&D. Developed DoE plant trials for production of new product material for customer sampling. • Acted as Emissions Reduction Team Lead and managed personnel and projects across the LB1 and Q1 units. Reduced propane lost to the flare by 4MMlbs+ resulting in emission reduction of ~40 tons of VOC and ~1.8 tons of CO2 per year.

Manage all improvement projects for the Bayport Operations Site. Create and maintain the Plant Specific Technology Plan (PSTP). Identify, scope, and prioritize all improvement and compliance projects for the site. Serve as the Project Manager for all projects through planning, funding request, and execution steps.• Designed a $6MM, six-year mutigenerational site technology plan to prioritize highest risk gaps around the site. MGP designed to close 67 high target factor scenarios within four years.• Eliminated 46 safety gaps through scenario revalidation using the Risk Assessment Screening Tool (RAST).

Primary engineer responsible for the safe operation of the glacial methacrylic acid unit as well as Utilities for the B3, B4, HT, and HR units. Leads multidiscipline fouling team to identify causes of fouling in the field, design experiments to address fouling in the process chemistry lab, and implement findings in the field.

Currently part of Dow's National Students' Program which is designed to give student hires hands on work experience in large chemical facilities. At Institute worked at the Ethylene Oxide Catalyst plant and was able to learn operating methodology for the unit and company as a whole. Took the lead on multiple large improvement projects within my unit as well as ones that required collaboration across multiple units and sites.
