Release Site Manager
Responsible for a release site of Ara ambiguus. This involved volunteer management, animal husbandry and field work to monitor the released birds. This was my first experience leading a conservation team and working in a new country. I developed the on-site ecotourism, improved the supplementary feeding protocol and developed onsite infrastructure so we could care for and rehabilitate injured release birds.
Postdoctoral Researcher
I won funding to continue the development of my macaw recogniser. Specifically, to create a UI to allow conservationist to use machine learning to extract target species detections from passive acoustic monitoring data.
