Designed, led, configured and customized Orion's Collaborative Care Suite (HIE product offering) for multiple state-run HIEs which consisted of many varied interoperability requirements including but not limited to XDR, XCA, XDS.b, and HL7 v2 and v3. This includes extensive Rhapsody, Clinical Portal and Clinical Data Repository work as well as third party applications such as Emdeon ePrescribe, NextGate EMPI, HLI Language Engine, and others. Also Assisted Orion clients in porting current deprecated applications stacks over to the Orion Health platform including but not limited to EGate and JCaps. This required the ability to quickly assess the current product workflows, read and comprehend the existing custom coding, and develop and deploy the new logic and applications into client production environments.

Developed custom interface solutions using Mirth Connect for multiple ITS clientele. Worked primarily in the tele-radiology space writing and implementing ADT, ORM, and ORU/MDM routes for ITS clients and their vendors. Designed and developed an HL7 to JSON bridge within Mirth Connect to allow a client's Ruby on Rails and iOS applications to interface with multiple Hospital HIS's over HL7 for real-time scheduling and vendor list population.

Managed a team of software engineers on various projects with technologies ranging from .NET, C#, Java, Unix scripting, Oracle, SqlServer and Mirth. Developed custom Java Portlets for the McKesson Physician Portal for numerous CHS tier 2 facilities. Architected and built the Physician Electronic Medical Record solution currently being piloted at three CHS facilities. Managed a sixty-seven (and growing) facility Mirth interface engine deployment including full channel development and interfacing with third party vendors (MedQuist, McKesson, etc), alerting, monitoring, and backup solutions.

Designed and built custom tools in Java for automated and assisted parsing of SEC filings and display of the resulting data on their website. Designed and developed automated trading system for New Constructs’ hedge fund, Novo Capital Management. Was responsible for development of custom VOIP phone system, kickstart images for automated staging of all servers, and network topology.

Built custom tools in PHP and Perl for automated testing and reporting of client software quality and project management. Wrote Visual Basic scripts for Rational Robot in order to automate test cases for the client software.

Built custom tools in VB, PHP, and Perl for automated testing and reporting of site quality and project management. Diagnosed and solved issues with the WebXM implementation project. Wrote custom process workflows for Teamsite and custom Hitbox XML log parsers.

Customized and extended the current functionality of these sites’s chosen portal software, PHPNuke, with modules like online server monitors, attendance monitors, and XML parsers for their various leagues using PHP, SQL, and XML.

Developed proprietary server application, Javelin, for European banks to allow their customers to trade funds online and manage their retirement plans. Worked closely with Fundshub, Investia’s largest customer, in bringing new banks online in both the UK and Germany. Primary assignments were all client interfaces and servlet API’s (including reporting), using Java, XML, and SQL.

Developed applications using a wide range of technologies to determine the future direction of the company. Worked to increase search speed and relevance using LDAP and JNDI for META data searches. Most recently worked to re-design the client architecture using Macromedia Flash and XML (replacing the older Java Applet approach) to provide the user with the most feature-laden, comfortable GUI possible.Was part of the core team of developers that originally designed and developed the application and many of the services still offered to this day.

Developed a web application for asset tracking and management using Java servlets and SQL that automated shopathometv.com’s product flow from product specialists to the web page. Designed and developed custom features for shopathometv.com, using BroadVision JavaScript pages (server-side JavaScript) and client-side JavaScript, including but not limited to: category homepages, coupon systems, and contest events. Was responsible for daily maintenance of the website and tracking system.

Responsibilities included Unix system administration of an HP V-Class (v2200) server, web administration, and development of the web mail server and company wide Intranet including programming in Perl, HTML, and JavaScript. Working with another administrator, developed a bar coding system using x86 PCs as terminals and Perl that tracked worker progress, clock-in / clock-out, and administration functions. Worked as a technical liaison between Allegheny/Teledyne management and Netscape representatives in the development of the company extranet website using Netscape’s Portal software.

Developed a web application for a customized billing package to automate billing and accounting functions for the internet service provider using HTML and Perl. Was responsible for daily maintenance of the website and application. Worked with another engineer in development of an e-commerce web store for business to consumer hardware sales. Also administrated local Linux web servers.
