I am the organizer for a group of enthusiasts. We promote fellowship through such events as group dining, ethnic meals at members'​ homes, wine country getaways, recreational events, happy hours, brewery tours, etc. We average 15-20 different venues (restaurants mainly) a month. Meetup.com is a great social group if you are new to town, or purely looking to make new friends. Over the years I have created an excel spreadsheet listing: all of the restaurants, their ability to host large groups, those that do separate checks, have patios/outdoor seating, locals'​ nights, the chefs, hosts, owners, etc. I have many good relations within. Our international ranking is 81st worldwide as to the number of events as well as participation. I receive no pay for this 'job'​; it is membership based. All organizers submit a yearly payment to keep their respective sites online.I have been asked "what do I get out of it?" Assigned to the Low Voltage division, developed accounts in a four state territory (WA, OR, ID, Nor Cal). Primary focus was on PAC-12 campus construction projects; initiated and monitored student compensation plans (to procure leads) and increase productivity. Also marketed and sold to security, integration, and electrical contractors and primary contractors. Continued sales and product training through expos, trade shows, and video seminars. Instrumental in the development in a new security product, contributed product and industry expertise and sales marketing perspective to R&D, and provided product marketing strategy.

Assign sales and revenue goals for two-state area – Indiana & Kentucky – 200 dealer accounts. Develop, budget, and implement marketing programs. Promote sales by administering literature and POS materials. Mentor dealers, coordinate scheduled events and procure talent for tradeshow and show venues. Over life of agreement furnished monthly/quarterly reports to vendors.
