Created and implemented a business plan to launch a technology business (ISGts) within a construction company. ISGts focused on ICT white space design and build including client / owners’ rep consultancy and a service catalogue for operational, managed services. This innovative new capability within ISG led to additional revenue generation from cross sell, internal BD and direct to customer selling. Founded an operational board to apply new business, operational and commercial governance to design, build and operate divisions. Managed pre-construction, design and delivery teams (~40 people) for hyperscale data centre customers with challenging, cost and quality expectations. Provided leadership to a program of large data centre and technology projects (>100MW) across Europe, integrating complex scope and schedule and with construction colleagues.

Accountable for operating two strategic data centre locations totalling ~7MW of IT estate. Line management responsibility for 50 people across implementation, operations and matrix management of security and FM divisions. Under my leadership, I had operational and project control, risk management and delivery of all critical, planned and reactive works; achieved uptime of 99.999%. Accountable for regulatory audit and compliance, capital expenditure and operational P&L budget management and was an active stakeholder and executive contributor to portfolio strategy. Implemented new design, build, inventory, support, and service request processes across all of Barclays UK data centres. Promoted from single site data centre manager to regional manager, covering Barclays Retail and Capital locations.

Leadership responsibility of all hardware adds, moves, changes & decoms including associated capacity and inventory management. Project managed a low voltage, horizontal cabling design and implementation, and a 300-rack data centre expansion. Improved ESG public relations with the implementation of a self-designed / engineered cold aisle corridor solution. Promoted from data centre technician (2001 – 2004) to data centre manager (2004 – 2007).
