ATS is a UK registered company operating out of Zurich, Switzerland. I joined ATS in November 2011 as Chief Engineer and in January 2012 was assigned to Abu Dhabi.I provided Technical Oversite and guidance to the VP and customer, on the Abu Dhabi Falcons Eye, a safe city project. My responsibilities included:• In country Systems Architecture• Architecture of interfaces to external system. (Police ADM, DoT)• Providing recommendations for new technology insertions into the project,• Troubleshooting any major contractual and technical issues while successfully maintaining the customers support• Identifying the requirements for SME’s, product suppliers, and installation sub-contractorsI was the lead technical interface to the MCC (customer), developing close relations with the Technical director and CEO, providing technical, commercial and project support while managing their expectations. I was the Enterprise Architect who developed the Abu Dhabi Department of Transport “Integrated Transportation System” opportunities for ATS.• Establishing firm relationship with the DOT decision makers.• Created concepts proposals for integrated transport management, utilising the existing Falcons Eye infrastructure, including a tolling system utilising the existing OCR system, and Environmental systems to monitor the quality of storm drain outflow.

Responsible under the chief engineer for the Technical Implementation of the Land Environment Air Picture Provision (LEAPP) system programme. Coordinating the design and development across all IPTs, ensuring a coherent effort, and providing a point of reference for cross IPT issue resolution. All IPTs report through me to the senior programme and operations management. In the time, I was with the company, I helped the introduction of modern Enterprise Systems Engineering and Architectural processes and procedures.

I managed concept phase for a national air defence system, understanding, developing and capturing the enterprise scope and operational capability needs of the system. MODAF was mandated across all programmes to capture the enterprise environment and developed the CONOP, in conjunction with the customer from both the UK and abroad. The CONOP and User requirements were captured and traced, using a combination of Systems Architect, and DOORS. I was engineering project manager responsible for Ground System Projects with BAE CNIR in USA. Providing primary technical interface and support to BAE CNIR. I directed the on-site integration and successful acceptance of the systems in the USA and Oman.

Provided technical guidance to active programmes, established the technical roadmap for the active programmes and provided consultancy on failing programmes when requested by the Engineering and Programmes Director. Provided technical solutions to meet customer requirements. Worked with the Engineering Managers to establish bid teams and co-ordinate the work as necessary. I worked with and provided support to, the new business, marketing and technology functions and supported customer discussions, negotiations and presentations, providing strategic direction for the Intelligence Surveillance and Reconaissence (ISR)Ground Station business area. Worked with senior members of the ISR IPT and customers to ensure the strategy was in line with business goals. Provided technical input to strategic plans to support the process improvements department to establishing improvements. I Provided consultancy/support to the active programmes in the use of these processes. Established technical and commercial links across General Dynamics corporate NATO, and UK/European industry. I was UK POC on two NATO STANAGS, and a co-opted member of three

I joined the Transportable Reconnaissance Exploitation Facility (TREF) team soon after contract award, initially as a systems engineer, then as Lead Systems Engineer for the project. The TREF is a cabinised exploitation and communications system, with world wide deployability. Up to eight ISO containers are linked together to create an NBC clean, tempest cleared environment. The system was based around NATO standard interface protocols to ensure maximum interoperability with other NATO reconnaissance systems. Each workstation had access to a mapping system which was synchronised to the imagery currently on display. A large collateral database enabled the intelligence operatives to place the imagery data into context, and enabled accurate change reporting. The system ran at secret high, and all input and output communications were controlled via the System manager. The TREF had a wide variety of communications, including, ISDN, PSTN, RTTS, and other Satcom facilities. I was responsible on the TREF programme for defining the final requirements specification, for interfacing and direction of the user support team who were involved in the project from requirements definition to acceptance. I was also responsible for negotiation of requirements trade offs and contract changes. I successfully managed the factory and on sight acceptance of the TREF, which is now a NATO declared asset. During this period I was appointed as an industrial representative on the NATO tiger team working to define new interoperability standards. This work was done in close co- operation with French and German counterparts.

I was promoted to leading the software development of the VIEW on the GEE project, I then moved on to take control of the system acceptance of the RMEF,(a transportable version of the GEE for the Royal Saudi Air Force.). Following UK acceptance of the RMEF, I lead a team in Saudi to gain in-country acceptance. This resulted in six months in-country in 1992. From delivery of the system to its retirement in 2002 only one minor software fault has been identified.
