Mitigating the risks and impact of the Games on the University’s business as usual operations and maximising the commercial opportunities and global profile the Games provided to deliver agreed outcomes and benefits realisation objectives.Working in partnership with the B2022 Organising Committee (OC), our Games time operations delivered 48 sessions of hockey and squash over 11 days of the Games, welcomed 200,000 spectators to campus and hosted 3,500 athletes, teams and officials across our portfolio of accommodation on campus. I was also a key advisor on how to maximise the commercial and community opportunities from the Games across campus, securing and delivering an additional 30 conferences and events on top of our contractual commitments, including being the home for SportsAid’s Team England Futures programme, hosting two CGF 'GAPS' training camps and being the home / 'UK House' for DBT’s Business and Tourism Programme, which showcased the regions inward investment opportunities to a global audience. I was also the lead operational contact / conduit for all Birmingham 2022 OC functional areas (FA’s) and 25 internal professional services across the Institution, working in partnership with the OC/CGF/CGFP/DCMS/BCC/CGE and wider regional, national and Commonwealth partners and stakeholders to maximise this once in a generation opportunity.

Prior to this I was the Senior Programme Manager for the Midlands UK delegation at MIPIM World, Cannes, the world’s leading real estate and property investment event (26,000 delegates, 6,000 investors and 4,000 international media), working with senior level stakeholders (DIT, Midlands Engine, Local Authorities / Public and Commercial sector partners) to showcase £11billion of investment opportunity. Whilst also negotiating and securing over £1.5m of external funding from commercial and charitable sectors including the World Olympians Association, Premiership Rugby, World Rugby Hall of Fame and the RFU university clusters programme.Commissioned as the strategic delivery partner by Wasps RFC to deliver their Premiership Rugby (PRL) community programmes across six strands, which resulted in delivering to over 120 schools and more than 7,000 young people in two years.
