Commenced working life as Tax Officer for Inland Revenue, progressed to Tax Consultant with Coopers & Lybrand, moved to Voluntary and Community Sector in 1991 and since then have worked in variety of organisations, local and national, in finance and administration.Have served on number of Boards and Committees with Voluntary and Community organisations including Disability Action (2001 to present), Citizens Advice Belfast (2002 - 2011), Disability Living Allowance Advisory Board for NI (2006 - 2009). Was Chairman of Belfast Philharmonic Society, NI's only symphonic chorus, 125 adult members (age range 17+) and 300+ children and young people in 4 choirs (training, children's, youth and chamber choirs (age range 8-15) I continue to sing in the choir. I was Honorary Treasurer at Orangefield Presbyterian Church Belfast from 2013 to 2017
