The Patient & Family Advisory Council provides input from the viewpoint of patients and their families concerning healthcare issues ranging from ER waiting rooms to nutrition to appropriate respect/recognition for deceased patients. I did not set out to become an expert in this area, but my experiences over the last 10 years as a congestive heart failure patient and then as a heart transplant recipient (2/5/15), plus my experiences caring for aging parents, have apparently qualified me. I feel grateful to work with a hospital system that is willing to listen and act. I'm also gratified that I am able to possibly help other patients who are struggling with health issues.
