Oversight and direction of staff engaged in real estate management and maintenance including planning, procurement, construction and management of DES buildings. Coordinated the saving of over $5 million for the Department’s occupancy budget. We accomplished this through effective planning with the DES programs for space consolidation (closed over 40 offices) and negotiations with lessors for lease rate reductions.

Represented the Department as the Chair of the National Association of State Workforce Agencies (NASWA) Equal Opportunity Committee. Also served as the Arizona representative on the NASWA Executive Board. Sat as the DES representative on the Maricopa County Workforce Investment Board and chaired its Operations Committee.
