About Tom Cornell
Tom Cornell is an energy professional with 35 years of power generation and energy storage related experience. He started his career in the power generation industry with Westinghouse Power Generation (now Siemens) based in Orlando, Florida where he worked for 10 years in the areas of steam turbine engineering, thermal system design, project engineering, and engineering management. Tom worked on various technologies including nuclear, conventional fossil, cogeneration, combustion turbine, and combined cycle. Tom worked extensively on international projects, predominately in Asia and spent 6 months in residence in Singapore setting up a new business development office for Westinghouse. He then moved on to Entergy Wholesale Operations (non-regulated IPP) in Houston, Texas where he worked for 3 years as a Senior Project Manager developing and executing natural gas generation projects in North America. Tom joined Progress Energy (Progress Ventures) in 2002 where he has served as the Director of Project Planning & Siting, Director of New Generation Projects, General Manager of Project Development & Engineering, General Manager of Generation Construction, and as General Manager of Fleet Modernization. In 2013 Tom joined Toshiba International Corp. as the Director of Business Development for North America and in 2015 became the VP of Sales and Business Development for TAES and the Chairman of the Board of Governors for Turbine PROs, LLC. Tom received a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University and a M.S. degree in Engineering Management from the Florida Institute of Technology.

Responsible for managing all engineering related to turnkey EPC contracts involving simple and combined cycle power projects. Managed the engineering for a $65 million, 170MW project in Saudi Arabia, which involves engineering input from three suppliers. Some examples of accomplish-ments:• Managed internal Siemens Westinghouse engineering on Saudi project (civil, mechanical, electrical, and controls) successfully while maintaining the actual engineering costs at 30% below budget.• Provided additional support to the Project Manager on issues such as schedule, procurement, manufacturing, construction, cost control, transportation and subcontract management.
