• Responsible for creation, development and delivery of solutions to enable continued operation of R-R Gas Turbines predominantly in the Civil Aerospace sector.• Specialising in a range of practical skills to acquire access to Inspect and/or Repair components or sub-systems.Prototype methods, develop and validate bespoke tooling.Document methods and equipment into recognised Aerospace procedures.Train Operators to embody the Remote Visual Inspection or Repair task in accordance with Airworthiness regulatory requirements e.g. EASA Part 145.

• Team Leader for the Thermal Paints laboratories at Derby and Bristol R-R sites.• Serving Experimental Civil Aerospace by providing capability of measuring the maximum surface temperature of key Gas Turbine components to support component design and validation to achieve engine certification.• Responsible for leading two independent teams at two different geographic UK sites serving the Civil and Defence aerospace businesses.• Recognised as the Rolls-Royce SME for Thermal Paints.

• Directly employed from University graduation as a Metallurgist within the Nuclear Defence business to support the Royal Naval Nuclear deterrent.• Working in a laboratory environment to study the effects of corrosion on key systems within the Nuclear Steam Raising Plant.Acquired practical skills to prepare and inspect specimens from representative components or materials and authored technical documents detailing results of experimental studies.• Practical skills developed further by working at Customer locations e.g. Naval Dockyard's on-platform within the Reactor Compartment for Nuclear-powered Royal Naval submarines.
