▪ Apply knowledge of equipment offering to customer needs in order to build a capital equipment quote. Once opportunity is won, act as capital project manager and engineer from preliminary design stage through manufacturing and delivery. Also provide solutions for customer field issues.

▪ Mechanical engineer working on the custom PDU (Power Distribution Unit) team within the custom rack systems division of APC by Schneider Electric. Work on 4-5 projects at a time. Design and build units for customers based on specific customer needs. ▪ Heavily involved in all aspects of each project. Design and model each part and unit. Create drawings and BOM’s for parts and assemblies. Order all new parts and materials and build prototypes. Create factory work instructions for full unit assemblies. Correspond with manufacturing plants in both California and India.

▪ Supported research and development for human portable neutron generator for DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) project. ▪ Successfully advanced system sustainability from 30kV to 120kV, allowing a greater neutron yield and a more focused plasma beam. ▪ Improved D+ atomic fraction of system from 10% to 60%. High D+ fraction improves neutron yield by allowing for more collisions using lower energy.

- Managed two OEM projects with major companies following the 5 phase product development structure.- Work on wide variety of both process and product design projects. These are both new and existing product projects. -New product projects involve determining correct element and fuse composition in order to meet required fuse performance. When designing these fuses, it is crucial to keep in mind cost and processing constraints and determine how to get the best product while working within these constraints. I have personally been an integral part of three new line launches in less than two years with the company. -Processing development projects involve evaluating existing lines and determining where efficiency and costs can be optimized. Within one of our lines, our volume demand was beginning to exhaust our line capabilities. Instead of buying expensive new equipment, I was able to redesign our processing fixtures in order to increase efficiency to meet the demand. -I also work closely with UL (Underwriters Laboratory) on both new product approvals and existing product failures. When an existing product fails a UL test, it is my responsibility to diagnose and solve the problem.

-Summer internship for USACE at CERL (Construction Engineering Research Lab) in Champaign, IL. -Performed research to develop energy optimization software for campuses (such as military bases). The software would analyze the energy load for given campus and determine a power plant setup that would optimize both energy consumption and cost. - Completed research on a wide range equipment models of gas turbines, steam turbines, HRSG’s, natural gas reciprocating engines, etc. Research resulted in efficiency values to help complete software equipment database.

-Led project to find and inspect variable pipe support for 5 units of the plant. Most of these supports had not been inspected in over 40 years. Of the over 500 supports inspected, 5 had been found to need replacement. This ultimately enhanced safety, and potentially costs by preventing issues caused by pipe collapse. -Served as an engineering team member conducting multi-million dollar metallurgy upgrade study. The team conducted a cost/benefit analysis to determine if efficiencies created through the upgrade would yield sufficient profit.
