Flood and coastal risk management professional with approaching 20 years of experience in the field.Skilled in strategic planning, long term and lateral thinking, programme development, bid writing and securing funding, capital project development and delivery. I’ve been involved in a host of projects ranging from managing environmental surveys to enable annual maintenance regimes of flood defences through the creating multi-disciplinary teams to deliver forward thinking innovation projects.More recently I’ve been involved in strategic planning and have provided input to national activities such as the National FCERM strategy for England, development of regional and county-wide approaches to tackling the climate emergency, production of Flood Risk Management Plans and inputting to a large number of policy development groups for future FCERM activity. I enjoy thinking laterally to solve problems and working with others to identify partnership opportunities to do so efficiently, collaboratively and delivering mutual benefits wider than the perceived easy option.Professional qualifications from three universities covering geography, civil engineering and river and coastal engineering.
