Working as part of the BMS Team as a Senior Associate Controls Engineer, my role requires strong understanding of heating and cooling plant, UPS Systems, Ventilation and automation of pumps and valve actuators as well as monitoring and maintaining temperature and humidity sensors for optimum performance of critical IT equipment.More recently I have been working on the implementation of DCIM for global monitoring, programming and tuning of critical cooling systems, fuel delivery and generator monitoring, data collection, panel modifications as well as commissioning of plant for brand new state of the art Data Centers within the Slough Campus.

While working within the Projects team, my responsibilities involved the installation and testing of UPS supplied sockets, installation of PDUs (Power Distribution Unit), customer powerstrip installation and "power-ups" as well as installing a range of bespoke containment types for band 1 and band 2 voltage segregation as well as fibre and UTP containment.

I started Equinix after completing my C&G NVQ 2 and 3 which allowed me to work full time on gaining the appropriate hands on experience to complete my JTL Advanced Apprenticeship.I had to complete a range of over 7 different cable types and 7 types of electrical containment. One of my main projects was to design and install a warehouse lighting and power installation which included 2 way emergency contactor controlled lighting. The installation was then tested while under supervision from a JTL Representative.After my apprenticeship I was fortunate enough to have been offered a full-time Job as a Projects Technician
