My role is to contribute to the SHEQ team's objectives by providing Environmental support to all aspects of the business. I am responsible for coordinating, recording, updating, and maintaining data systems, for all aspects of carbon reporting, waste management, conservation, and energy management systems. During my time at Vital Energi, my role has expanded to include a focus on ESG aspects of the business, promoting sustainability practices and stakeholder engagement.

My role as QEHS Controller was to assist the Compliance Manager with Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety aspects of the business. I was responsible for general Health and Safety of both office spaces and the working waste materials facility site, ensuring compliance with management systems including ISO9001, ISO14001 and ISO45001 and maintaining a positive H&S culture.

I was part of the Environmental and Energy Team, providing general support as well as, carrying out an assessment on the current Environmental Management System and what will be required to achieve ISO14001:2015 edition.

Malta

I was part of a team which is creating Malta's national action plan to combat desertification. My roles include data collection, analysis and interpretations (GIS data based), research and critical analysis of Maltese and international policy regarding the Rio Convention and European Commission documents, looking specifically at land use and sustainable development goals. I also worked with the CITES office approving clearances and issuing permits and licences for the import and export of products containing species and plant extracts, along with updating Malta's Biodiversity Database.
