I have been employed by the Durham Regional Police Service for 30 years. The focus of my career has been investigations. I have conducted countless investigations while assigned to the Pickering Criminal Investigation Branch, the Major Crime Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Unit, the Homicide Unit and in my present assignment within Professional Standards Unit. I have extensive experience managing and leading large investigative teams through complex investigations while achieving exceptional results. I gather and analyze all relevant information and make evidence based decisions. In 2019 I was the CPC Candidate of Record for the Federal Riding of Ajax. Unfortunately we did not win the riding. I did however gain valuable experience and built lasting friendships and relationships that continue on. In my present role of Professional Standards Investigator I am required to conduct detailed investigations into the alleged misconduct of DRPS officers. I liaise with members of outside agencies such as the SIU and the OIPRD. I prepare detailed reports supporting my findings. I am also skilled at mediation and finding resolution to public complaints ensuring that all parties involved receive an opportunity to be heard and have access to a fair and transparent process. I am looking for an opportunity to utilize and share my training and experience in a meaningful way. I entered politics to effect change and promote the values of integrity, accountability and consistency in process. I believe in leading by example and I have demonstrated my willingness to make personal sacrifice to achieve my goals.
