Brigade connects voters on a platform for opinion expression, taking action, and holding elected officials accountable. Working at a growing company like Brigade afforded me a lot of opportunity to contribute to many parts of the stack, depending on whatever the company needed at the time.Near the beginning of Brigade, I was part of the Ops team which deployed and maintained the initial infrastructure with automation tools like Chef and Terraform.I led the deployment of a microservices architecture (using Apache Mesos) to allow developers to quickly deploy high-performance applications.As the infrastructure stabilized, I moved to the API team to build various features into our REST API built with Rails.I later moved to the Web team to build user-facing product features in our React codebase.
