I had the pleasure of being selected as a Guardian to accompany Veterans on the Honor Flight Thursday April 25, 2013 to Washington DC. Our plane had over 90 veterans of WW II and the Korean War from all branches of service. They represented the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Merchant Marines & the Coast Guard. They were heading to Washington to see the Memorials built for but not limited to WW II, Korean War, Vietnam, Air Force,Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial & Womens Memorial. As a Veteran myself, it was particularly moving to visit Arlington National Cemetary, The Tomb of the Unknown and the 'Changing of the Guard' as well as grave sites of President John F. Kennedy and Bobby Kennedy. The age of the Veterans that made this trip ranged from 78 to 97. Some needed wheel chairs, most preferred to walk on their own. I could talk for hours about this trip and encourage anyone that can.... to become a part of this organization or... 'Make the trip', I can't tell you enough how moving and gratifying it will be for you.There is phrase that reads..' Freedom is not Free'.....If you can read this Thank a Teacher....If you can read this in English....Thank a Veteran.... There is some truth there. If our WW I & WW II veterans had not stepped up and fought the fight..and WON... We could have a completely different way of life. Thank a Veteran for their service.

This Committee reviews requests and selects those that are in need and best relate to the Homebuilding / Remodeling Industry in our community.

Attended the Parade of Homes annually, Monthly Education / Dinner Meetings, Annual Home Show, Charitable Gift Committee, helped with the Golf Events, sponsored meetings and attended the Chill /Grill functions..

Quad Cities

Announced yesterday...I was elected to the Board of Directors of the Quad City Homebuilders & Remodelers Association. I've been active in the Association for many years helping in different capacities and committees and was encouraged to consider running/serving on the Board. Being chosen to serve is an Honor. I'm hopeful I can make a difference to help the Association going forward drawing from over 30 years of experience in Real Estate, Mortgage Lending, the Iowa Mortgage Association and the Quad City Homebuilders / Remodelers Association. I will continue to help families with their Home Purchase's and refinances.

This Award is given to an individual for Dedicated Support and Service to the Quad-City Area REALTOR Association. Tom began working with the Association in 1978 as a REALTOR. He became a Mortgage Lender in 1985 and served as President of the IMA ( Iowa Mortgage Assoc.) in 1996-1997. He has also worked with numerous Charities over the past 30 yrs including St Judes Chidrens Hospital, March of Dimes, Boys & Girls Clubs, Hearts & Hammers/ Rebuilding Together & Elks Scholarships.

PSIA Certified since 2001.Experience- Gave Private and Group Ski Lessons to beginner and more experienced Skiier's. Downhill experience in Colorado at Winter Park, Breckinridge, Copper Mtn., Keystone and a number of Midwest Ski Area's.

My responsibilities include Mortgage Production & being active with the following associations.....QCARA Realtors, QCBR Builders & Remodelers, Chamber of Commerce, Charitable Community work as well.

Davenport / Bettendorf / Quad Cities

I was recently invited to be on 2 panels. The first was to assist with updating the Scott County Bar Association.. The second was for the QCARA Realtor Association during their Education week. Both panels addressed changes the Mortgage Finance industry has undergone in the past 12-18 months including ‘Short Sales’. Attendance was very high at both Seminar’s and everyone went away with a better understanding of the home buying / financing process in today’s environment. Attorney Jorge Gomez II was selected to be the Instructor / Moderator for both presentations. He has been a premier Real Estate Attorney for over 30 years in our Community as well as an Approved Instructor for the Iowa Bar Association and the Iowa Realtor Association. His participation kept the events polished and professional—an added benefit to all attendees!

Commuity Charitable Fundraiser's and Events

Years of real estate experience led me to the Iowa Mortgage Banker's Association and being a member of it's Board from 1986-1998. ( serving as the Association's President in 1996-1997 )

Worked at Country Clubs and played some Tournament golf. Member of the PGA Tour in 1977-1978.
