I gained significant experience in managing the effects of mining subsidence underneath the railway due to long wall coal mining at Kellingley colliery, Knottingley, UK.

Undergraduate Design Engineer
Whilst at Laser Rail I was involved in design and test work for new product introduction. The main emphasis of my work concentrated on optimising air flow around the inside of laser-operated structure measurement system. I was responsible for carrying out the necessary fluid dynamic calculations, working out expected pressure losses around the system and then for designing and building a test rig. The learning outcomes from the testing allowed me to test and implement improvements to the design in order to develop a suitable final solution.
