I am currently leading the Glaucoma Business Group at the global leader in diagnostic instruments for ophthalmology and optometry at ZEISS. I have had core roles in very successful startups:As FreeStyle Marketing Manager at TheraSense I successfully launched and drove market share of FreeStyle, the blood glucose meter that took the diabetes world by storm. I performed all product management functions: packaging design, marketing messaging, Sales training, etc. I also performed Brand Management functions: I ran a multi-million dollar media campaign and innovated new ways to reach our customers. FreeStyle transformed the diabetes blood glucose market and Therasense was later acquired by Abbot for $1.2 Billion. As Director of Marketing with Revivant we created a new market in the setting of cardiac arrest treatment, and we developed innovative and cost-effective marketing approaches to build awareness and adoption.I am an innovator and an “analytical-intuitive” with a technical background:My early career started with a degree in Physics from UC Berkeley, several years as a scientist and project engineering manager with Lockheed Missiles and Space Co, with a top secret clearance. To move into marketing I first earned an MBA from UCLA with a focus on Strategy and Marketing.
