In my career, I have worked in academic research, investment management, data science and software engineering. I have typically been in solution-focused hybrid roles, combining technical architecture design, coding knowledge and customer-facing communication skills. I excel at collaboratively identifying a problem, designing solutions and helping to create applications that meet requirements.For the last 10 years, I have been coding in Python and ES6 JavaScript for about 60% of my time, with the rest of my time spent in driving towards successful solutions with internal and external stakeholders. I am competent with the common data science tools in the Python world, having delivered applications that provide insights on large data stores. I have also written numerous production JavaScript client and server applications, using ES6, Typescript, Node, React, etc. I have the experience now to pick the right technical solutions for data applications, provide high level architecture documents and validate resourcing plans.Looking forward, there are so many exciting things going on in the world of data science and machine learning, in sectors as varied as e-commerce, life sciences and financial services. I want to be involved in strategic planning for these changes with senior leadership, guiding their decisions while continuing to learn new technical and business skills in a hands-on technical role..
