Following retirement from NFI Industries where he served as the Western Region Security Director, Tom has again returned to the transportation industry joining the staff at Direct Truck and Auto Repair as the Director of Transportation and Business Development. In his new position Tom draws from his years of experience working with multiple logistic/transportation firms and applies the sales experience gained as Vice President of Business Develpment for Magtec Products, USA. In his new role he will be responsible for expanding an already successful operation focusing on diesel repair and fleet maintenance working with his stepson and daughter-in-law, Darrin and Josephine Carlson, who have nurtured their business for 22 years growing it from a premium transport agency into the current, full service repair facility, no longer reliant on the former tow agency. The secure 5 door facility located in San Bernardino sits on roughly 1/2 acre, has multiple bays manned by 5 seasoned mechanics and mobile service. It is supported by an office staff and an on-property management team ensuring administrative functions are handled accurately and efficienctly. A seasoned cargo theft investigator and security specialist Tom constructed a successful consulting firm over several years applying experience gained while serving the Transportion, Logistics and Warehousing Industries with a firm background in not only day-to-day operations but CTPAT, foreign trade zone compliance and labor issues. While servicing transportation firms over the years Tom has been instrumental in the development of locking programs and security protocols that have withstood the test of time after being adapted in a variety of circumstances. He has played an integral role in the reduction of losses wherever he has lent his assistance by ensuring facilities were physically prepared, procedures and guidlines were correctly installed and auditing processes were in place.
