I started the Central Illinois team in 2011 with a desire to minister through sports in prison. The Saints Prison Ministry uses athletics to present the Gospel and mentor inmates towards spiritual maturity as they successfully transition into family and community. During a typical prison trip, we play slow pitch softball with the inmates and have a speaking time in between games. It is my responsibility to train, coordinate, and coach a team of seventeen volunteers to effectively minister in prison. As the Central Illinois Coordinator I have to ensure that we have adequate transportation to and from prison, that we have proper softball and sound equipment, and that we have literature to hand out to the inmates. It is also my responsibility to safely take our team in and out of prison and work with prison staff members and officers about what parameters we are able to work in and what time restraints we have for each visit. I have to ensure that our team has met fund raising goals prior to each season. I am also accountable for expenses during each trip and have to effectively work within the budget provided by our corporate office in New Jersey.

I am currently responsible for maintaining CNC controlled equipment, including several different models of Fanuc controllers. I have experience troubleshooting and using Fanuc 0, 15, 16, 18i, and 30i controllers. I have implemented the process of backing up critical CNC and PMC data on an annual basis. I have also had to make online and offline ladder and PMC modifications with each of these controllers. I have retrofit several machine tools using Fanuc 16i and 30i series controls. Most of the machines that are retrofit are stripped of the old controls and replaced with a new Fanuc control. The power distribution, wiring, and magnetics of each machine are completely replaced and upgraded. Because of some of the improvements, I made changes to the ladder logic of those machines. I am using the Fanuc Ladder III software to write and modify machine ladder and edit PMC functions as needed. I am familiar on how to use the software to make changes online as well as loading the updated file onto a memory card. It is also my responsibility to maintain documentation for each project. I make extensive Excel spreadsheets that record data such as input and output assignments, cable layouts, specific parameters, and parts used. I also use a program called KiCad to make diagrams of all of the wiring of the machine. In addition to retrofitting machines, I have modified several of our older machines with newer components such as replacing and interfacing older motor controls variable frequency drives and replacing older operator interfaces with newer control pendants, pushbuttons, and cabling. I am responsible for maintaining our PLC controlled machines as well. I have used the Automation Direct Click PLCs on multiple projects around our facility. I have also maintained various variable frequency drives such as Automation Direct, Toshiba G7s and Bardac DC spindle drives.

I started the Turkey Bowl in 2003 as an outreach ministry of Calvary Baptist Bible Church. The Turkey Bowl is a recreational flag football tournament on the church grounds each November. We minister to each of the teams by sharing a short devotional before each game and by providing food throughout the entire weekend of the tournament. It has grown from an eight team, one day, single elimination tournament to a twenty team, three day, double elimination tournament. I am responsible for the planning being the key leader of the event. I currently coordinate approximately 40 volunteers who accomplish tasks such preaching, grilling food, serving in the church kitchen, field makeup, and maintaining neighborhood relations. It is also my responsibility to recruit and schedule paid referees to officiate the 40 games that take place during the weekend. I also lead the social media campaign each year which effectively advertises our tournament and engages our audience with news and information about Turkey Bowl.

During my time working for Kerry Ingredients I was responsible for maintaining various food production equipment that use pneumatic, steam, and hydraulic systems. I also worked with Modicon PLC controlled systems as well as Allen Bradley, Reliance, and Toshiba variable frequency drives. I have also gained valuable experience setting up and using the mp2 computerized maintenance management software.

Working for Hagerty Steel and Aluminum I was responsible for maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on Hagerty’s processing equipment. While working on these machines I was able to maintain various PLC controlled systems as well as magnetic relay controlled systems. I gained experience working with steel processing equipment such as sheers, saws, CNC plasma cutting machines, overhead cranes and industrial sandblasting equipment. I was also introduced to using the mp2 computerized maintenance system.

While working for Advanced Technology Services at Caterpillar’s Mossville Engine Production Site, I was responsible for electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair. While working on these machines I was able to maintain various PLC controlled systems as well as older relay logic systems. I also installed various industrial motors and calculated proper overload protection.

While working for L.R. Nelson I maintained various PLC controlled systems (GE Fanuc), Robotic systems, and various pneumatic equipment. I assisted in designing and building electrical control and mechanical systems for some of the various manufacturing and assembly equipment.
