Tom brings more than 40 years experience in communications as a former newspaper reporter, editor and public relations professional for dozens of national accounts and marquee brands such as the NCAA Men’s College World Series, First National Bank of Omaha, VT Industries, Tnemec Company, Inc., and Right at Home. During his years in the newsroom, Tom worked as a reporter and editor of the Pulitzer Prize-winning Sun Newspapers of Omaha where he led the editorial staff to dozens of regional and national awards for excellence in photography and writing. Today, Tom’s articles and news releases appear in numerous trade publications, as well as in newspaper and broadcast media.Since joining Bozell in 1983, Tom has written and edited both print and electronic newsletters for national accounts, including the New Pork Times produced for the National Pork Producers Council, The Problem Solver created for Moog Automotive, the monthly Tnemec E-News, to name a few. His early work with the agency involved numerous agricultural campaigns involving farm equipment, row crop and animal health products. The journalism faculty at the University of Nebraska at Omaha has recognized Tom with its annual Outstanding Achievement Award for "contributions to journalism." He’s also the recipient of several PRSA Paper Anvil awards and the BPAA’s Pro-Comm Best of Division award in the PR Coordinated Campaign category. He is a former president of the Omaha Press Club and the OPC Journalism Education, Inc. Foundation.
