Tom spent 26 years with Howmet Corporation, then an additional 10 years with Alcoa after Howmet was acquired by Alcoa in January 2000. Most of Tom's career with Howmet and Alcoa was in Facilities Maintenance and equipment reliability. Tom held facilities management positions in Dover, New Jersey, LaPorte, Indiana and Laval, Québec, Canada. Tom's consulting skills were developed as an internal Alcoa consultant implementing Alcoa’s Business Systems, (ABS) a lean system derived from the Toyota Production System. As a consultant, Tom was able to learn all aspects of ABS (lean manufacturing) with focus on improving equipment reliability using tools such as RCM (Reliability Centered Maintenance), TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), Capacity Analysis, Practical Problem Solving, PM/PDM (Preventive/Predictive Maintenance), Machine Kaizen and Maintenance Organizational Development. Tom has recent experience implementing equipment reliability tools in locations at Alcoa (Dover, New Jersey), Sequa Corporation/ Chromalloy Castings (Tampa, Florida and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma), ASC Corporation (North Canton, Ohio, Puebla, Mexico, Tainjin, China). Cliffs Natural Resources (Northshore Mining Operation), CPP (Consolidated Precision Products).
