In 2015, Tom Co-Founded NOVAE Energy-an energy development company focused on small scale LNG solutions in Central and South AmericaWhile subject to a five-year non-compete Agreement that kept him out of the energy business, Tom co-founded data processing company, Refund Logistics. After eleven years of solid growth, the company was sold to AFS Logistics in the Fall of 2019.Prior to Refund Logistics, Tom founded Houston Energy Services Company (HESCO). In 1997, HESCO purchased and operated a natural gas distribution system that it subsequently sold to Entex. The company also built, and commenced operations of, a natural gas pipeline connecting an industrial facility to MidCon Pipeline in Fort Bend County. Between 1998 and 2007, HESCO: 1). Accumulated 2,300 natural gas customers behind 17 different LDCs in 10 different states. Annual sales exceeded $300,000,000. Noteworthy long-term customers included General Motors, 3M, Schering-Plough, Rohm & Haas, Gerdau Ameristeel, Amgen, USG, IP, Quaker Oats, Dart Container, Dean Foods, Las Vegas Hilton, The Riviera, The Sahara, Caesars Palace, Paris, The Flamingo, Harrah’s and Bally’s. 2). Founded HESCOGEN, LLC and built a cogeneration plant for a large industrial customer in Southern California. The plant was sold to the host after four years. 3). Founded HESCOSUL, LLC and Brazilian affiliate, HESCOSUL ASSESSORIA E PARTICIPACOES LTDA for the development of a ferro-manganese smelting plant on the Parana River. 4). Formed joint-venture, Vantage Power Services, LLP. A retail electric provider (REP) marketing electricity to commercial-class customers in the wake of the deregulation of ERCOT. Vantage was sold to MX Energy in 2008.in 2007, HESCO's East Coast Division was sold to Sprague Energy, and its West Coast Division was purchased by Commerce Energy.Before HESCO Tom worked as a natural gas marketer at Texas-Ohio Gas, Inc. (TOG).
