Responsible for managing fire resistance, acoustic, structural and site-based testing services operating from the High Wycombe site.Management of finance, HR, H&S, quality and operations for these technical-demanding services to the construction and building products industries.P&L responsibility and involvement in business development, marketing and sales.

Purpose of Role:Responsible for ensuring the effective operation of a business made up of 6 Business Units and 110 employees, to achieve annual financial targets and strategic goals.Provide expert technical understanding of company’s services, knowledge of external markets and appreciation of customers’ needs, as well as an in-depth understanding of how the business operates and performs. Delivery of ongoing improvement and change to remain competitive within a challenging market and meet the expectations of shareholders.As a professional services business, work closely with HR and IT, to ensure the business has the best people and appropriate systems. Responsibilities & Achievements:• Working with COO and the Senior Management Team to define 5 year strategy • Accountable for delivery of strategic goals resulting in improved profitability, rising to in excess of £1m p.a. (c.17% net profit)• Operational review including mapping and documenting procedures, measuring performance and customer feedback, devising and introducing improvements and monitoring their success • Business Measurement, including introduction of KPIs and SLAs, implementation of improvement actions as required• Introduction of CRM and Job tracking systems – including the change management and cultural shift associated with their adoption • Trouble shooting to fix unexpected issues and parachute management of sections, when required• Mentoring and support for Heads of Section • Management of projects across multiple Sections• Chair of Group Operations Committee
