Coaching the next generation of startup founders

Tom is an experienced designer and business leader who specialises in translating lived experience into usable design and strategy. Tom focuses on authentic engagement through the inclusion of diverse voices in to accurately represent community and vulnerability in policy design and business decisions. Tom has supported organisations including CSIRO, Beyond Blue, the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet, and SA Power Networks to develop organisational, customer experience and policy strategies that have aided business optimisation, funding efforts and increased customer engagement. He has pioneered national innovation labs (including WSAA’s W-Lab) which have brought together diverse cross-sector stakeholders to co-create bold future visions through strategic partnership, innovative collaboration and technology implementation. His leadership and innovation in W-Lab's formation has supported sector wide action to enable a circular economy, decarbonisation, net zero transition and decentralisation.More recently, Tom has been working with the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water to deliver Australia’s National Climate Resilience and Adaptation Strategy (presented at COP26) and a National technology collaboration portal improving environmental assessments and ultimately environmental outcomes.
