With 37 years of experience through continuous employment in the architectural profession I joined Graham + Sibbald as Director of Architectural Services in November 2021. I am a Certified Passivhaus Designer and PAS2035 Refit Coordinator with a passion for decarbonisation of existing domestic and non-domestic building stock in the UK. I joined Graham + Sibbald following 26 years experience from trainee architect to Director with Coltart Earley Architecture which followed periods of employment with Hay Steel and Partners, John Boys Architects and The Kennedy Partnership. Having undertaken three years of part time training at Glasgow College of Building and Printing I entered into the part time Degree course at the Mackintosh School of Architecture, Glasgow in 1990. Having completed the 7 year undergraduate Degree and Post Graduate Diploma course at "the Mac" I completed my Part 3 Chartered Architect training in 1998. Throughout this whole period I continued to work full time in the practices noted above.In 1997 I took up the position of Resident Architect at the University of Strathclyde, Estates Management Department for 2 years (97-99), during which time i gained extensive experience working for multi-departmental clients within a large organization via an internal team managing projects to the value of £25m. I returned to Coltart Earley as Associate in 1999, becoming Director in 2001. I have also consulted with the Disability Rights Commission in Scotland and sat on the Built Environment Reference Group on behalf of Royal Incorporation Architects in ScotlandAs a qualified Bowls Scotland Club Coach I am currently developing my coaching skills with Visually Impaired and Partially Disabled Bowlers through Bowls Scotland with the Scottish National and Development VI and PD Squads. I also help run the Juniors Section at my local club whilst recently receiving Legacy 2014 Accredited status for a Schools Coaching Initiative aimed at 10-11 years old children called "GlasBOWL"In 2014 we won The Sports Council for Glasgow "Development Club of the Year Award" and were finalists in the Sunday Mail/Sport Scotland Scottish Sports Awards "Local Club of the Year" Award. Following a 2 term 8 year period on the Board as Director of Marketing, Branding and Communication for the sports National Governing Organisation Bowls Scotland I joined the Board of International Bowls for the Disabled. This is the World Governing Organisation for Para Bowls.
