Strategic planning included the establishment of a clear vision and direction for the company and leading the company towards that vision. It also included the development of a detailed and executable business plan. Operational management included the execution of the business plan and all aspects related to the management of a company. Restored the company to profitability during my first full year as CEO through sales and productivity improvements.

Responsible for the strategic and operational management of the European operation. Also responsible for integrating the newly acquired company into the overall organization.

Responsible for leading the development of Carhartt’s international business strategy and managing its growth. Countries included those in Eastern and Western Europe, China, Japan, Hong Kong, Australia and New Zealand. Also a member of the team that developed the company’s corporate strategy and business plan. Lead the negotiations on license and distribution agreements and researching and selecting companies in Europe for acquisition.

Responsible for the development of Ford Motor Company’s marketing and distribution strategy in emerging overseas markets. Countries included China and Brazil.

Responsible for the development of market representation plans and dealer improvement plans that allowed the region to achieve sales and market share goals; including customer, dealer and employee satisfaction goals.

Worked with the company's consultants, McKinsey & Company, to design the complete reorganization of the Lincoln-Mercury Division; one of four employees, division-wide, selected for the team. Subsequently selected as one of three team members, division-wide, to implement the new Lincoln-Mercury organization.

Responsible for the distribution and allocation of vehicles to dealers for the region, regional budget performance and several special projects.

Consulted with dealerships on all aspects of their business, including sales, marketing, advertising and finance.
