Deployed for State Active Duty for over six years on Operation Border Star, Operation Drawbridge & Operation Strong Safety in support of DPS Texas Rangers SOG for Texas Border Security. Additional deployments with TPWD Game Wardens for lake safety operations and major hurricanes including Hurricanes Ike-Gustav-Dean-Dolly. SAR Technician and Military Emergency Management Specialist. Transferred into the Texas Military Forces Honorary Reserves.

Senior TXMF Officer In Charge of TXMF personnel assigned to BSOC. Provide support to US Border Patrol, Texas Ranger Recon Teams, USCG, CBP Marine, CBP Air, DPS Air, DPS Tactical Marine Unit, TPWD Game Wardens, federal, state, and local LEAs. Provide real time image intelligence and analysis from border security camera network and CBP Predator drone for interdiction of narcotics and illegal aliens being smuggled across the Texas border and along the Texas Gulf Coast. Part of State of Texas Border criminal intelligence network established to track and combat narco-terrorism, narcotics smuggling, illegal alien smuggling, and DTO’s operating off the coast and along the Texas/Mexico border. I completed my tour of duty with TMF on Operation Border Star at the Del Rio JOIC.

Gear Boss Division - Assigned the regional territory of TX,OK,NM,LA,AR; Designed and sold athletic equipment storage systems for school districts, universities, and the NFL. Primarily worked with architects, general contractors, district facilities planners, athletic directors, and coaches on bond funded new campus construction and campus renovation projects. Designed systems and provided quotations based on takeoffs at the construction site or from the architectural plan. Designed "to scale" layouts, and provided quotations on product, delivery, and installation. Most systems ran from $25K-$125K. Successful installations included Dallas Cowboys, University of North Texas, University of Texas at San Antonio, and over 150 school districts in my region. The Gear Boss Athletic Division was permanently laid-off 1/2009 as part of a company reorganization - I then went on active military duty.

Independent manufacturer's rep firm representing contract/hospitality/residential furniture manufacturers.. Represented: Harden Contract, Leathercraft Contract, Neutral Posture Ergonomics, Cold Spring Granite, CF Stinson Fabrics, etc. We called on architects, IIDA and ASID designers, contract and residential furniture dealers, hospitality and healthcare, general contractors, home builders, and Fortune 500 end-user companies. Worked with GSA contracts for government and military end-users, and participated in GSC State of Texas bids and state in-contract sales. Company operated by my wife/partner after I left in 2005. The company direction changed as partner starting representing Durkan Hospitality Carpet focusing on hospitality, healthcare and senior living channels of distribution.

NSM for ergonomic chair manufacturing company. Managed independent rep firms throughout North America, managed export program, and made direct calls on Fortune 500 to establish corporate standards and ergonomic standards programs. I established private label programs for companies such as Relax-the-Back. I exhibited in approximately 25 national and regional trade shows per year. In addition to NSM duties, I covered the Houston/South Texas sales territory and increased sales from $300K to $1.2 million in sales. When I came to the company sales were around $6 million, when I left sales were close to $14 million. I left the company to start my own manufacturers' rep firm in 1996.

Duties included commercial intelligence gathering on assigned US trade sectors, trade missions, trade shows, joint ventures, corporate retention, green field development, technology transfers, maquiladora sourcing, government liaison on major projects in assigned trade sectors including the Dallas DART Light Rail Project, Texas High Speed Rail project, and the GFI Alternative Fuels project. Ontario Government trade office closed in 1992 and all trade functions were transferred to the Trade Commissioner - Dallas Canadian Consulate.

Duties were store operations - including leasing space, store design and construction, hiring and training of store managers, store security; Operated 20 high-end retail luggage/ leather goods specialty stores located throughout Southwest US; Company was sold to new owners with their own management team - senior company officers left - I went to work for one of our suppliers - American Tourister Luggage as their factory representative for KS-OK-AR.

Tulsa based district manager covering Eastern Oklahoma for Bell & Howell Micrographics division. Position involved sales of planetary and high speed microfilm cameras, microfiche readers/printers, film processors, lenses, film and chemicals. I primarily sold equipment to banks, hospitals, insurance agencies, law enforcement, government agencies, and the military. Most customers either operated their own labs for microfilming hard copy files or used high speed microfilm cameras that produced microfiche files requiring various lenses and microfiche readers. Four years - President's Club Member for outstanding sales performance. Resigned position for a better opportunity.

After leaving the Navy I lived in Adelaide and Melbourne, Australia working for Olivetti. I trained in Sydney and was transferred from Adelaide to Melbourne after training. Olivetti manufactured adding machines, calculators, and typewriters which I sold for commercial applications. I transferred from the Melbourne branch to the Houston branch in 1971 due to the illness of my mother. In 1973 Olivetti International closed all of its direct sales US branch offices and its US corporate office and went to franchised office dealer distribution for all of its product lines.
