CurrentStudio 1501 President Tom Hinckley is passionate about the power of imagery to tell a compelling story. He understands the importance of a strong brand image to fuel his clients’ success in a competitive business environment. A native of Southern California, Tom has had an interest in photography and graphics since childhood. He attended the prestigious Brooks Institute of Photography and graduated with a degree in Commercial Photography in 1983. After graduation, Tom remained in Santa Barbara, working as the staff photographer for the City Parks and Recreation Department. In 1984 he returned to the Los Angeles area to launch a commercial photography service at an established illustrative studio. In 1986 he started his own business, Studio 1501, specializing in commercial photography. He combined his knowledge of traditional techniques with the latest technology in digital imaging equipment to become one of the first photographers to operate a digital photography studio. Today he is in the vanguard of photographers who offer clients a choice of high quality images in studio or on location, as well as concept-to-completion management of graphics projects. Tom’s combination of extensive experience and outstanding people skills makes him a strong business leader who exceeds his clients’ expectations.
