I am a Kentucky native who was born and raised in Murray, Kentucky and went to Murray State University and graduated from Murray State in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Communication and Youth Non-profit Leadership and a Masters of Science in Human Development & Leadership with and emphasis in College Student Personnel Guidance in 2005. My future plans include completing my life coaching certification and working toward my Ph.D. in Transpersonal Psychology with a focus on Counseling. A mid-level professional with 11 1/2 years experience in counseling, human development and higher education access programming. I have facilitated, trained students and professionals on various topics from leadership, college preparation, motivation, career exploration & development, team building, group dynamics, relationships, and effective communication. I have lead two cultural emersion trips to Jamaica in 2005 & 2007. I started my human service experience at a YMCA in Murray, Kentucky. I have my national certification in non-profit management. My hobbies include anything outdoors; hiking, camping, exploring, canoeing, rafting and fishing to name a few. I love volunteer work, cooking some of my favorite recipes include Polynesian Pork Tenderloin with spicy shrimp and brussel sprouts. And a Mediterranean stuffed herbed Tilapia with rice. My reasons for coming to work for the College of Charleston, definitely the hospitality, inclusiveness and the overwhelming collegiate support from my colleagues. I am really excited about helping make a difference here at the College of Charleston on the local level with students, and even on a region and state level as well.Education is the key to helping create a more conscious and equal society. I am pleased and excited to be apart of the Cougar family.
