About Tom Howie

My grandfather, father and myself were all locomotive engineers and supervisors for CSX on the same Seaboard line. Altogether, we’ve been in the rail business since 1899, with almost 150 years of service. Through my 29 years at CSX, I came to the realization there must be a better way to automate, track, and document the training and compliance process.I created the concept, connected with developers, and then InfoRail, our first software application, was born. Since the development of InfoRail, RailSoft Systems has also developed TrackAccess and TA-Hours of Service. We have also developed a training and learning management application software called LogitracCBT.No matter how great the software, it often cannot fully replace the impact of face to face training. Including myself, our instructors for Rail Training and Consulting, Inc. have a combined 200+ years of experience in the railroad industry. I am proud of our team of instructors that work each day to make the rail industry a safer place.
