The home was built on an angled limestone shelf, and the house foundation followed the cruve. It was very complex from a design, engineering and construction standpoint. Tom's work was superlative, both before, during, and after the project. The end result was a home featured on the AIA tour (the least expensive home on the list, and probably the most interesting IMHO). Tom has a great grasp of "details to be" that most architects I've met never notice. The design makes the best use of the site - the best views, the best use of passive solar, and minimizes the lesser qualities of the site. I designed and built all of the interior with Tom as well, and we turned a 2300 sq ft house into a spacious, gracious entertaining space. I really thought about how I would use the space, because Tom asked all the right questions. As I sit her writing this, I am thinking about my next home, and I wouldn't consider working with anyone else - from buying the property all to designing, to building, to grinding out those final details. I'm looking forward to it."
