Perform duties in the Human Resources central records unit to include serving unit lead overseeing the filing and retrieving documents from employee records. Maintain log of employee record activities; prepare records for storage; use computer to prepare correspondence and documents; maintain tracking documents; perform data entry; retrieve data; perform inquiries and generate and maintain reports as required. Distribute computer-generated reports to HR staff and HR point-of-service offices. Performs employment verifications; monitor fax machine and deliver faxed documents; send outgoing materials by fax as requested. Provide back up to the Human Resources receptionist. Make copies for HR Staff as requested. Created new out card system for checking out records from file room. Prepared a cost comparison analysis regarding file maintenance/organization. Developed a file tracking spreadsheet to keep track of files sent to storage. Responsible for the conversion of all PRS employee files to standard file format. Have already converted approximately 1300 from regional format to standard format. Have attended MS Word 6.0 training, First Things First training, and USPS training. Drove to Regions 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 to retrieve all files for the centralization of the records room. Responsible for over 6,000 master personnel files. Works independently; takes initiative follows chain of command according to PRS policy. Familiar with file retention policy and procedure. Communicate with Regional HR staff regarding file retrieval; familiar with open records requests and de-identification procedures. Serves as team leader in routine delegation of tasks to temporary employees. Responsible for overseeing the completion of tasks assigned to temporary employees. Performed the relocation of the central records unit from one building to another twice, as well as assisted in the set-up of the current records room.

After bootcamp, went to Motor Transport school, then stationed on Okinawa, Japan, and then final duty station was 8th Motors at Camp Lejuene, NC.
