I spent my early career mainly in sales roles trying to figure out what I wanted to be when I grew up. Balance was important to our family and I took roles that allowed us to have that.Empathy is time and again my strongest trait in the various tests. I see the world as a wonderful place because we are all so different. I’m competitive but not quite willing to win at all costs, not if it means sacrificing my morals. I’m a huge fan of football and enjoy coaching at the high school level; if I could go back, I’d maybe not be so hard on myself when I was a player. I absolutely love to cook, and I’m still a bit of an Xbox nerd in my downtime. A huge influence on my career was meeting the owner of The Brigham Group in 2010. Since, I’ve been a recruiter of some kind, from staffing light industrial manufacturing hourly positions up to sourcing and hiring directors and VPs on both the agency and corporate side. I’ve worn many hats at smaller companies where we did our best to carve out our share of the market. I don’t recruit doctors or lawyers. Anyone else, I’ve pretty much had a project in your world by this point. I’ll work in any industry if I get to interact with hiring managers and candidates. That sweet spot between an open position and someone considering a career change is where I do my thing. Downsizing and layoffs truly stink! You pour your heart into building up a business and then are told one day sorry, it’s over. It happened twice, once in my driveway right in the middle of the pandemic when we were all stuck at home! Brutal. Yet, I still get up and have a fire in my belly for this wonderful industry. I know my people are out there, excited to work with me and willing to give me a shot. Maybe that’s you?
