Tom is the co-founder of Authentic Leaders – dedicated to helping leaders confront their fear and tap into their most powerful authentic leadership so that their organizations can be healthier, more inclusive, and higher performing. Tom lived that journey as a principal of a middle school in Brooklyn – experiencing what it is to lead from fear and then the power of leading with vulnerability. As Chief Talent Officer at Achievement First, he developed a new approach to leadership training that avoided lectures, scripts, or demonstrations, and relied on simulations to help leaders get out of their heads, get out of their “leader persona,” and find their authentic voice and standards.He now works with Kevin Anderle to use the same simulation model to help leaders across the country confront their fear, bias, and internalized notions of what it means to be a “strong leader” so that they can tap into their authentic values, beliefs and identity.

We believe a big part ofemployee engagement will be maintaining and enhancing the strong organizational cultureat AF, and the CTO will need to lean in heavily here with the co-CEOs and Chief of Staff -
