Thuja Design is a thriving small but successful interior design consultancy, who offer exciting and innovative solutions to a wide range of commercial and industrial, residential and private projects. They are passionate about creating exciting and innovative interiors and with an insight into their client’s requirements and desires they create environments that are unique, inspirational and practical. They have a hands-on approach and a commitment to simplicity, quality, functionality and attention to detail.I spent 11 months at Thuja Design in Birmingham for a placement year as part of my university degree. Throughout this time I worked very closely with the director of the company, in mostly commercial and residential sectors of interior design. My main responsibilities included:- concept design, space planning, creating detailed SketchUp models and then rendering using V-Ray to create visuals, liaising with clients and sale representatives on a weekly basis, sourcing and ordering samples, creating sample boards, site visits and detailed surveys, creating presentations for client meetings, producing furniture and door schedules, producing design and access statements for planning applications.I was fortunate enough to work on projects such as Tata Technologies' new head quarters in Leamington Spa.
