Hello, I've been working in law enforcement for almost 20 years and prior to that I was in the army on active duty with several combat deployments and working with the army reserve as an ROTC training support battalion instructor.I have experience working with the state police agency as an advanced collision investigator, IACP certified drug recognition expert, impaired driver enforcement investigator, drug interdiction, as well as an Idaho peace officer standards and training certified instructor and tac officer for the Idaho State Police advanced training academy. I attended the Idaho State Police supervisor's academy and became a corporal managing a team of up to eight troopers at times. I achieved my intermediate Idaho POST certificate with enough hours, time in service and training to qualify for my advanced Idaho POST certificate however, I took the opportunity to make a career path change in 2014 and lateraled over to the Spokane County Sheriff's Office as a deputy. I served in various roles working rural county districts as well as dense urban districts and found the most enjoyment when I was assigned to the Spokane Valley Police department contract City precinct where I worked as a patrol officer for approximately 5 years. I tested for, and was promoted, to the investigative unit in 2020 and served as a special assault investigator where I investigated a variety of cases to include intimate partner sexual assault, sexual assault against children and developmentally disabled adults, child abuse and neglect, sexually motivated crimes and internet crimes against children along with kidnapping and missing and exploited child investigations.During my tenure with the unit, I was expected to assist the major crimes unit investigating homicides and other serious offenses until I was finally moved to a position as a hybrid investigator working both major crimes and special assaults. I am a Washington State certified IIT investigator with specialized training in officer involved critical incident investigations.In 2024 I received special deputation through the U.S. Marshal's Service and the Federal Bureau of investigation for a joint child exploitation and human trafficking investigative unit attached to the RAVEN street crimes unit where I currently operate.I was the lead CEW (Taser) instructor for SCSO as well as a certified Master Taser Instructor through Axon and became the CEW subject matter expert. I served as an advanced field training officer among other leadership and mentorship roles within the agency.
