Safety Director
CurrentResponsible for administration and field implementation of safety program for 150+ IBEW electricians across an average of 15 active job sites. Project scopes can include new electrical construction, renovation of existing facilities, and/or service/maintenance of electrical equipment for private and public customers in automotive manufacturing, heavy industrial, utilities, spirit distillation, education, and healthcare, among others. Work involves voltages ranging from less than 50V up to 15kV.• Collaborate with site owners, executive management, field supervisors, and field personnel to identify/control hazards • Advise executive management on safety trends, industry best practices, and opportunities to reduce risk through improvements to safety program and work processes and investment in safety-engineered tools and equipment • Sustain leading indicator-based initiatives including audits, inspections, training, hazard analyses, and risk assessments• Monitor and improve compliance with AES safety program, applicable standards (OSHA, NFPA 70E, DOT), and customer policies; Maintain safety documentation and ensure completion of all regulatory and customer reports • Direct incident response, investigation, and corrective action implementation; Interface with Workers Compensation claims service to manage care and return to work for injured workers• Responded to OSHA post-incident investigation and worker complaint-driven inspections • Supervise contract field safety personnel; Direct work, provide performance feedback • Oversee subcontractors’ submission of required documentation and implementation of safe work practices• Led company-wide COVID-19 response: Contact tracing, resource procurement, policy research/development
