Managed an 85 acre core campus landscape using a 40 plus member student crew as part of the Work Program. Responsibilities included design and implementation of plantings throughout the entire core campus, maintenance of the athletic fields, planning and care for the tree inventory, propagating and establishing local genotypes of grasses and forbes. Hands on training with students included the safe use of power equipment such as mowers, chainsaws, tractors, backhoe and arborist work. The entire operation was done in the most environmentally responsible way possible, limiting the use of chemicals as much as possible. Helped the college attain the following designations: Tree Campus USA, Bee Campus USA, Native Plant Habitat-NCNPS, Wildlife Habitat-core campus- NWF.
