Upon retiring as a Group Managing Director from UBS in April 2020, Tom joined as a Senior Advisor at RSK UK Limited (“RSK”), based in Houston, Texas. RSK is a global financial and technical advisory firm serving the energy, renewable and financial sectors globally. Prior to joining RSK, Tom spent 27 years in Investment Banking with Morgan Stanley and UBS in New York, Houston and Singapore. Tom has extensive experience covering a wide variety of assignments in the Natural Resources, Energy and Chemicals sectors. In addition, Tom has spent considerable time working with various International Oil Companies and National Oil Companies around the world. More recently,, Tom has worked on numerous mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, spinoffs, activist defense and equity IPOs, primary and secondary offerings and debt financings for companies in all segments of the energy and natural resources business.In addition to client work, Tom has held managerial roles at UBS and Morgan Stanley. From 2011 until retiring in 2020 Tom was Global Head of Natural Resource Investment Banking at UBS. In addition to heading natural resources globally, Tom was responsible for UBS’ Latin America Investment Banking from 2016 until 2020 and Canadian Investment Banking from 2016 until 2018. At Morgan Stanley, in addition to client work, Tom held managerial roles with increasing responsibility including Global Head of Energy Investment Banking from 2008 to 2011, Co-Head of Global Energy from 2005 to 2008, Head of Energy for Asia and the Middle East from 1997 to 2001 and Head of Energy for Latin America from 1995 to 1997. Tom served on the Investment Banking Management Committee at both UBS and Morgan Stanley along with other compliance and ESG responsibilities. Tom was named a Managing Director at Morgan Stanley in 1999, joined UBS as a Managing Director in 2011 and was named a Group Managing Director at UBS in 2014. Tom is registered with the Series 7, 63 and 24 licenses.Prior to Investment Banking, Tom spent 8 years as a consultant at McKinsey and Company in the Texas Office. Tom worked on a variety of strategy assignments primarily in the Energy Sector working for integrated oil companies, national oil companies, gas and liquid pipeline companies, service and engineering and construction companies. Notable assignments included business transformation, segment turnaround, new market entry and industry transformation and disruption strategies. Prior to McKinsey and Company, Tom worked for 2 years as a production engineer at Exxon.
