Product Director - PropertyfileZoopla / The Property Software Group Mar 2015 - Jul 2017PropertyFile was a startup project to create an online platform and mobile app for Tenants, Landlords, Home Buyers and Sellers. Helping sales and lettings agents in the UK helping bring a 24 hour more transparent service to their business. After launch it quickly scaled to 100k active users.My role as Product Director included managing the development team and sales and customer service functions for the project. Taking PropertyFile from a startup idea into a key product in the groups portfolio. I also attended the board meetings for PSG whilst continuing to work closely with the groups other products. I had direct contact with the Managing Director and weekly update meetings. As a venture backed firm I was required to document progress and prepare a pitch presentation to LDC to update them on the strategic vision.PropertyFile was the start of connecting estate agents with the needs of digital transformation so they could connect with their customers online. Especially as at the time Purple Bricks was a growing threat to their future. For some it helped secure instructions, for others it simply reduced calls and saved them time when dealing with queries. For their clients it gave them a simple easy way to find out information quickly and easily online 24/7.Property file grew to be massively popular with both estate agencies and their clients. During my last months we developed an online tool set which would allow estate agents to receive 24/7 viewing bookings and integrated the platform into several of the leading industry CRMs.In 2016 PSG was acquired by Zoopla for £75m with both the success of PropertyFile and Jupix playing a key part in the offering where I stayed on to ensure the smooth integration of the products into the larger group.

Technical Director / Co-FounderJupix Sep 2007 - Feb 2015In 2007 Jupix LTD was formed and I became the Technical Director and Co-Founder. Jupix went on to become one of the most popular Estate Agency CRMs of its time. Serving thousands of estate agent brands.At the time of leaving it had over 10k daily active business users.Their staff relied on the platform 24/7 to deliver everything their business needed. From the promotion of properties on portals like Rightmove and Zoopla, to booking in diary appointments, creating letters and more.I personally worked closely with our estate agent partners to try to produce an improved estate agency software which built on the best practices in the industry.Later we moved into accountancy and finance system to support the lettings businesses. I helped develop our yellow brick road system to ensure every tenancy went through a compliant and timely journey. This was later to become a key concept for our trainers and sales team to sell the software. As lettings became more complicated and agents wanted to ensure greater control especially those with growing portfolios.The use of the cloud was one of our key selling points. This enabled us to work in unique ways with many industry partners from Printing and Email marketing. To tenant referencing through a commercial partnership with Van Mildert and marketing support through over 50 portals to develop one of the leading cloud estate agency software platforms.After achieving a successful exit, I stayed with the business to ensure the team and company continued to be a success. -
Senior Web DeveloperJupix Jun 2004 - Sep 2007As the first developer I was responsible for the initial creation of the Jupix Estate Agency Software which later turned into my role as Co-Founder and CTO.This involved not only developing the software but working closely with local agents in our area to learn and understand about the industry and their needs. This is where I first developed my unique set of skills of being able to be technical but also understand the customers needs. The regular input helped shape the first version of the software Webnet.We were aware that many agents had to manually upload their properties to several systems such as Rightmove and Primelocation as well as their own website, often several times a day.Together with our partner agents we identified an opportunity to make this process easier, so created Jupix Webnet to make marketing properties online easy. At the time this was a relatively new concept and is now the de-facto standard for today’s estate agencies.Many of these abilities had previously only been afforded to the larger companies but we were able to bring this to agencies of any size.
