Provide training and support for the Production Department in the areas of Fiber Handling, Splice Process, Fiber Defect Evaluation & Disposition, technology support for manufacturing area and TEOA (Tyco Electronics Operating Advantage).Train all new personnel in Fiber Handling. Training includes how to handle fiber, how to inspect and recognize fiber conditions and how to safely work in a clean room environment. Provide refresher fiber handling training for entire site.Train all new personnel in arc fusion splicing. Training includes theory of arc fusion splicing, splint curing and inspection, and fiber coiling into product.Evaluates fiber conditions for multiple areas of factory and provides condition disposition. Works with Design and Reliability groups to continually modify fiber condition acceptability criteria and documentation processes.Provides support to Operations on various technologies including computer support, computer peripheral support, Operator computer training and optical equipment evaluation.Provides TEOA support for the splice process area. Work with Splice Operators to implement TEOA initiatives in the splice tents.Work collegially with Design to select and introduce new splice equipment into the facility. Performed equipment evaluations from various vendors and participated in selecting the eventual vendor. Collaborated with Design and the vendor to implement various design changes to make the splice platform and auxiliary equipment more ergonomically and Operator friendly.Led a team that defined and created specifications for a new software program that collects product splice requirements, controls the splice equipment, reports on collected splice data and serves as a maintenance work order generator.

Provide Lean Manufacturing support to SAW (Surface Acoustic Wave) production group.Transformed traditional manufacturing cells into Lean lines.Support training and cultural change with Operations personnel. Define current processes and plan transformation to Lean lines.
