Our transport group, comprising of 16 companies nationally, is privately owned andspecialises in express courier and taxi truck services. Our group originated in Melbourne of 1985 with the incorporation of Civic Transport Services.Since November 1985, Civic experienced remarkable growth and moved through variousstages of re-structuring and development. In order to ensure continued prosperity and rapid growth a succession of new companies were created to eventually form the group as we know it today. This method of expansion has provided many employees with career opportunities and job security.Our group’s national expansion commenced 1st July 2006. We now have offices in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Perth. Civic provides metro, country & interstate transport services throughout Australia and soon we will have offices in all major capital cities.We recognise the importance of our human resources and over the years have invested wisely in the careful selection and training of suitable people. Management’s approach is “hands on”. It is not unusual for bookings and other operations calls to be taken by the Directors, the General Manager and other senior managers. During peak times and other busy periods it is quite common for managers and sales persons to assist with deliveries & bookings. Nationally our transport group now provides employment for over 900 sub-contract owner-drivers and over 170 office staff divided into 5 main departments: operations, sales, administration, finance and information technology.Over one third of our office staff members have given more than 10 years of service to the company, many of them more than 15 years. The Cycling Australia Athletes Commission exists to advise the Board of CA on matters of importance to cyclists. Commission members are committed to providing a voice for the concerns of all Australian cyclists, whether at club level or elite competitor and contribute their time on a voluntary basis.
