CurrentIn 2011, Tom Ledin decided to improve upon his traditional method of “oiling” (waxing) mesh to create more consistent pockets in the wet San Francisco Bay Area Winter and Spring.After many small successes, and an equal number of failures he found a mix of ingredients, and developed a formula that was too good not to share. After four years of manufacturing “wax” mesh, production of Red Star Mesh ceased, and the search began for even better materials and processes. In early 2016 Red Star V2 Performance mesh was introduced. Red Star V2 Mesh is an All-Weather polyester-based mesh, and it has far exceeded our expectations. With amazing control, consitency, stringability, and an attractive price, Red Star V2 is hard to beat. We are VERY proud of Red Star V2 Mesh, and we hope that you give it a try. The name Red Star is a nod to the great state of California.
