I oversaw the provision of operational activities and associated processes within Digital Science’s Research Workflows Hub (comprising the Symplectic and Figshare business units), to ensure their timely and effective delivery.I managed and oversaw contracts, contractual processes and third-party relationships for the Hub, and managed the Business Operations team, providing support and guidance to staff with specific responsibility for the accurate recognition of revenue and the reporting of management information to Hub and Digital Science management.

I was part of the senior management team at Symplectic. My remit included providing sales support to the Digital Science sales team - providing guidance to sales staff, quoting, drafting and checking responses to competitive processes, and performing demonstrations as necessary. As part of our client success effort, I managed a small team, and helped foster and manage relationships with our clients, being a point of escalation as required. In addition I managed the business operations team and was responsible for ensuring that our contracts and contractual processes were fit for purpose. My role also extended into managing relationships with third-party organisations, compliance (including ISO 9001), and the creation and maintenance of accurate operational data in support of performance management.

I managed the partly-remote team responsible for devising, specifying and documenting the metrics by which Australian higher education institutions would be assessed, directly driving the allocation of billions of dollars of research funding.
